As the Artist-In-Residence at the Cape Cod Community
College in the fall of 2000, I taught an impromptu class
in stained glass. Anyone in the community who was
interested in a crash course in the techniques of stained
glass was invited. Our plan was to take the pieces they
made and assemble them into a glass quilt to hang in the
lobby of the art center.
The class used pieces of
three-dimensional glass I had collected over the years as
well as the traditional flat colored glass, each person
creating his or her own unique design.

The artists were proud of their squares
Bob then made a frame, 8' x 8' for the
squares.

Bob is looking frustrated...
The resulting quilt was magnificent.
